Okay, there’s a song I wrote a couple of years ago and recently I’ve had a lot of fun playing it on my own so I thought I’d take time to record it. I really hate recording because it takes too much time so I just did one take with the guitar, added two drum tracks and then did 5 or 6 passes with the vocals…not a perfect vocal performance but it was kind of cool to layer different takes on top of each other to give specific lines a little more punch in the chorus.
Now that the geeky stuff is out of the way, here are the scriptures this song was based on…
“Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.”
“..while we were God’s enemies, we were reconciled to him through the death of his Son..”
“Then he said to them all: “Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross daily and follow me.”
I don’t really remember what was going through my head at that time so I don’t have much to share by way of a story of how this song came to me…I think it was more of just a fun thing at the time since I don’t really write that often. Anyway, I hope you enjoy it! You can play it in the player above or just download the mp3 by right-clicking on the buttons below so you can put it on your phone or ipod 🙂
